Hesse Base

Base Manager Alain Blanck welcomes you to Hesse. A pretty and quiet village, Hesse has a charm and character that has been preserved over many years. Apart from a well-organized port the village also has the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey from the 11th century, whose church is now the village church.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Le Boat will be happy to arrange transfers from your arrival point to the base and can also do your food and drink shopping to stock up your boat before you arrive. Please complete our Taxi Transfer form and email, fax or post it back to the base at least 14 days prior to departure. The base receptionist will contact you directly to confirm details of your transfer.

BASE OPENING HOURS

Monday - Saturday:
08:30 – 12:30, 14:00 – 18:00

LATE ARRIVALS

If you are going to be arriving at the base late, you will need to inform the base directly or the general sales office where you booked. When you arrive at the base there will be a note on the reception door informing you where your boat is. The boat will be left open with the lights on for you to stay on board that night. The base staff will do the full briefing the following morning.

In Hesse there are a few shops, however to get your provisions you would need to travel to Sarrebourg, which is just 5km from the base. Here you will find:

FISHING

2 week fishing licenses are available from the base for €35 between June and October. In the canals around Hesse you might catch perch, pike, eel, tench and carp.
