Base Manager Olivier Turpin welcomes you to Gray. We’re sure you will never tire of cruising these beautiful waterways – there’s so many places to visit, wines to taste and sights to see. Your base at Gray on the River Soane was once a thriving port for the wine, wheat and iron trades and evidence of the region’s rich cultural and trading heritage is plain to see in the surrounding towns, villages and countryside. Medieval and Renaissance-era homes, churches and monasteries – many topped by the region’s distinctive multihued tiles roofs – line your route in every direction and are sure to add to your lasting memories of this beautiful region..

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Le Boat will be happy to arrange transfers from your arrival point to the base and can also do your food and drink shopping to stock up your boat before you arrive. Please complete our Taxi Transfer form and email, fax or post it back to the base at least 14 days prior to departure. The base receptionist will contact you directly to confirm details of your transfer.

LATE ARRIVALS

If you are going to be arriving at the base late, you will need to inform the base directly or the general sales office where you booked. When you arrive at the base there will be a note on the reception door informing you where your boat is. The boat will be left open with the lights on for you to stay on board that night. The base staff will do the full briefing the following morning.

FISHING

Fishing is allowed between June 1st – 30th September.
Fishing permit is required for 30€ and is available to buy at the base reception. You can also purchase a licence from the fishing tackle shops across the bridge from the base.

MARKET DAY

There is a market every Saturday morning next to the base in Gray. There is also a market every 2nd Wednesday which is held close to the Hotel de Ville.
