Reviews for the Royal Mystique
4 PAX all experienced sailors with world circumnavigations by all. the trip was exactly what was expected.
the boat was easy to handle and well equipped although; no power point in the galley! 1 in each cabin only this meant powered kitchen appliances (coffee machine) had to be used in AFT cabin.. for a trip over 1 week we would recommend more linen and towels or a service providing a full clean set weekly. the thermo cooler on the top deck to be replaced with a proper fridge.
A couple travelling with one teenager.
We loved the boat. It was really well laid out with a large cabin at either end each with an ensuite. It was really easy to get to the top deck from inside, and also easy to get to all the rope points for managing the locks. The kitchen was also excellent. The outside barbeque worked very well and we used it a lot. Our only reservation is that the boat was quite old, and bits kept falling off it. Nothing critical failed, however. Also, the power cable provided (to connect to shore power) was not able to cope with the demand of the air conditioning and kept tripping out. We ended up having to run the engine in order to get the air con to work, even when we had paid for a mooring with shore power.
Probably most impressed by the wine tank at the co-op that had the hose with what looked like a gas nozzle to dispense wine for 1.30 euro per liter.
Boat was great. One HUGE suggestion. In the forward shower. mount the door so it opens outwards toward the saloon. As is, it is almost impossible to get in the shower at all! If it opens outwards, it will accomplish 2 things. Easy access and shielding view of the shower occupant from the main saloon as he/she exits and enters!
We had a great holiday! The weather could have been better, but it didn't matter. Wildlife along the river and wonderful historic little towns to walk around in. Wonderful wine and food too!
My husband did a lot of research on the various boats, and he chose the Royal Mystique. It was the perfect boat for the four of us! We had a couple of minor electrical problems, but Collin fixed them quickly and we were given a credit for the down time. The bow thruster made docking a lot easier.
The week was overshadowed by the weather as it rained every day. The best bits were the wine tour at Sancerre, the locks and the crosssing of the Allier river.
Boat was spacious but we were unable to use the facilities on deck because of the weather.
