The canal aqueduct at Briare is the longest in Europe, was built in part by Gustaf Eiffel, the architect of the tower which bears his name in Paris. The enamel work in Briare is renowned worldwide.

There are two possible stops; one in the port just after the canal bridge and the other in the public moorings , on the other side of the town. In both cases you are a reasonably long walk from the town itself.
