Situated on the banks the Loire, the last untamed river in France, Marseilles-les-Aubigny is a very pleasant place to spend a night and the Port de Plaisance is conveniently situated for shops and restuarants. Marseilles-les-Aubigny has, since ancient times, been an active and important trading post transporting a wide range of cargoes, including metal from the Vallée de l'Aubois, lime and cereals from the basin of Beffes and timber from the Tronçais forest.
Visit the Musée de Sabot (free) which displays a collection of traditonal clogs and shoes, as well as models of the traditonal barges and boats which use the river and canal.
There is a market on Wednesday mornings at Place de l'Eglise
