Alternative Location: 
This is a lovely stop to see the open reed reed beds of the étang de Scamandre. There is abundant bird life here - especially the Marsh Harrier and Bittern.
The area is famous for its horses and bulls in the fields of the "manades" (ranches) along the banks of the canal
The 'Centre de Découverte du Scamandre (tel:04 66 73 52 05) is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 9.00 to 17.00 with guided visits
Its wine cellars, which are open everyday exept for Sundays 8h-12h/14h-18h where you can take the Costières de Nimes wines.

This village is only one and a half hours from St Gilles, making it a good stop on first night, but you need to be aware that there is no restaurant. This is just a small village with minimum services available, but it is set in very pleasant countryside of vineyards and reed marshes.

Moor here at the port, mooring stern on. The nightly cost is approximately €10. Alternatively you can moor on the canal bank (south side) in the country
