Hesse - Saarbrucken (or vice versa)

Cruise the pretty Canal des Houillères de la Sarre linking France and Germany and enjoy time at Gondrexange lake and watersports at Mittersheim. Saarbrücken is a wonderful, cosmopolitan city and capital of Germany’s Saarland. Cruising beyond Saarbrücken is not possible without a licence.

Hesse

Base Manager Alain Blanck welcomes you to Hesse. A pretty and quiet village, Hesse has a charm and character that has been preserved over many years. Apart from a well-organized port the village also has the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey from the 11th century, whose church is now the village church.

Saarbrücken

Base Manager Heiner Meyer welcomes you to Saarbrucken. The beautiful river Saar – from which our base takes its name – meanders charmingly through the forested Hunstruck region of the central uplands of Germany and makes for a peaceful and cultural cruising holiday for amateur and experienced cruisers (with navigation licences) alike. From Saarbrucken you can easily venture northwards into nearby Luxembourg or cruise south towards Strasbourg and the historic towns of north-eastern France.
