Reviews for the The Delights of Aquitaine Cruise
Arrived at base on Sat morning to be greeted by Sebastian. Boat ready and we were soon on our way. Great idea to be able to hire a internet "dongle" for the boat. Unfortuantely it failed on several occasions during the trip. As this was the first time in this region, would have been a great benefit to have uptodate information regarding restaurants/shops etc . You should have a area on your web page were users can leave relevent information regarding each area. Your boat information is well out of date.
Although fairly quiet compared to the Midi, but we had a good time. Most of the towns and villages along the way were worth stopping at. Wild life more abundant. Great cycle track the whole way.
No one experience outstanding, we enjoyed it very much - one of the highlights of our holiday.
Self catering was often the best option - a lot of towns were small and getting own provisions was easiest and very enjoyable.
July 6 we started and the weather was over 90 for most of the week. There isn't much shade on the canal so be prepared to melt in the heat. The umbrella supplied with the boat is way too small to offer shade to more than two people at one time.
Make sure you pack food and supplies before you leave Montauban because nothing is open on Sunday or Monday. We were hard pressed to find anything in the first three towns on our trip. You get a real up close view of the cooling towers of the nuclear power plant and around the Agen area you travel right next to the train tracks.
