Reviews for the The Medieval Short Break
We had a great time in a wonderful part of the UK. The boat was excellent, staff at the marina, coach company, lock and bridge staff friendly and helpful. Coiple of areas I might improve on were the initial briefing nd there was no-one available when we returned whish was only slightly worrying as I am an experienced sailor, other less experienced or novices might be puzzled.
Lovely canal. Lots of locks and messing about in boats. Good fun. Boat comfortable but a little old (30yrs) and battered. Pricey but would go again. Service and staff excellent
Great holiday to celebrate a 90th birthday. Calypso was a nice spacious boat with everything we needed for our hols. Staff from LeBoat were very helpful especial at Castelnaudary. Woul definitely use this company again.
Loved the canal and going through the locks. Very friendly people. Some good restaraunts. Great bakery in Trebe. Splendid nature. Would like to do 2 weeks.
Provided us with excellent repair service when required.
Excellent trip. The boat worked great.
I had an unique experience at a market in one of the small villages we stopped at. A particular scarf caught my eye and with out speaking French and the lady selling the knitting kit spoke no English. However, she taught me how to knit the scarf and I bought the kit. I leisurely enjoyed knitting while boating on the Canal du Midi. Another experience was exchanging paper towels for toilet paper with, again, not speaking French and visa versa. We thoroughly enjoyed going through the locks, the scenery especially the plane trees and the Pyrenees in the distance. We also like riding bikes, sleeping on the boat and listening to the sounds of nature.
