Boat very clean esp. bedding! Base staff very friendly & helpful. Instructions on driving boat etc. patiently & clearly given!. The lockkeepers friendliness & help was also well appreciated.

I found the pre sales and purchase experience to be excellent. They did what they promised
This location need the weed cleared from the harbour. It was so bad it clogged the engine and we were stranded in mid harbour. Another boat had to tow us in.

We went from Chatillon to Sancerre and back up to Briare and then to Chatillon base station. We cut our holiday short by two days because the area (apart from Sancerre itself) was pretty boring and disappointing. What I mean by this is we struggled to find restaurants/bars that were open! I know its France and they close at odd hours, but this is the height of holiday season (first week in July) and from the Saturday thru to the Wednesday, we found a lot of signs saying Ferme......The restaurants we did find open where very disappointing. Not the typical French Brasserie/Bistro types you read about but very average Pizza or general fayre restaurants offering poor quality food and average service.........Someone needs to speak to the French Tourist board!! The above unfortuneately is our most memorable experience of our holiday and hence why we cut it short by 2 days!
The honest answer to above is nothing and absolutely nothing. As I mentioned, Sancerre is pretty (but a fair hike from Canal) but that's it.......
