Yes, absolutely. Boating is a safe, relaxing, and a fun way for families to bond and enjoy the great outdoors. We provide life jackets for everyone, and we give you a full safety briefing to make sure everyone on board is comfortable and secure.

Boating is perfect for beginners. We’ll guide you through every step of the way during your induction, teaching you everything you need to know to enjoy the experience. From operating the boat to understanding the basics of navigation, we’ll make sure you feel confident and ready for your adventure!

No experience or licence required – anyone can do it! We’ll brief you, show you the ropes, and give you all the support you need. If you’re on the Canal du Midi, you also have the option to hire a skipper for the first day. In Germany, a licence is needed in some areas.

Absolutely. We welcome pets on board, with a maximum of two dogs per boat. A pet cleaning supplement per pet applies. Boating with your furry friend is a fantastic way to explore together. Head over to our dog-friendly holidays page to find out more and start planning your adventure!

While we don’t offer day trips, we provide a range of flexible options for your boating holiday:

• Skipper rentals: Hire a skipper for about 7 hours on your first day (available on the Canal du Midi) to help you get started with confidence.
• Short breaks: Book a minimum of 3 nights for a quick getaway.
• One-way cruises: Explore different destinations with a one-way cruise between two bases.

Most bases offer secure open-air parking or garages for an additional fee. If you’re bringing a caravan, some bases can accommodate it, but call ahead to ensure there’s space. Check our Base pages for more details.

It’s easier than you think! No experience needed – our team will show you how on the first day during your induction. Locks can be manual, automatic, or managed by a lock keeper depending on the region. Many customers say it’s a highlight of their trip!
