New to Boating Vacations
NO PREVIOUS BOATING EXPERIENCE OR LICENCE IS REQUIRED
As experts, we understand that boating can be overwhelming, that’s why we’ve created a 5 step guide to help you get on the water with ease and confidence. To make you feel even more comfortable we’re introducing the option to hire a skipper for a day, available on our most popular destination, the Canal du Midi in 2025.
STEP ONE
JOIN US ON THE WATER WITH NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Choose from over 18 destinations, across 9 countries within Europe & Canada.
- You must be 18 years of age in the UK & Europe and 21 in Ireland & Canada to rent our boats. A minimum of 2 adults is required on board.
- Select the boat that’s right for you. No need to be picky… we have over 900 to choose from.
- Pick all your extras to make your experience on the water even better!
- Manage your booking in ‘My account’
STEP TWO
PRE-DEPERATURE IS A ONE HOUR INDUCTION
- Our base teams will guide you on everything you need to know about driving our boats.
- You will receive training and support from our team for a short distance including a lock where possible, to ensure you are confident at the helm.
- Insurance waivers & final checks of the boat will be completed before you enjoy your vacation.
STEP THREE
DEPARTURE: EXPLORE THE WATERS
- We provide plenty of information to help you plan your adventure, and to ensure your safety. (i.e guidance on how to go through a lock)
- There is a waterways map on board which makes it very clear where you can and cannot go.
- On-board guides share how long it takes to get to each destination, where you can moor and what you can expect to find in each waterside town or village.
STEP FOUR
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
- Enjoy your vacation! Our boats are equipped with all you need to be comfortable with family and friends.
- Beds, hot water showers, sinks and toilets; a fully-equipped kitchen means you can shop local and dine on board if you choose.
- Electricity outlets can be found throughout the boat for all your equipment needs.
STEP FIVE
RETURN
- Most of our customers arrive at the base the day before due to lock opening times.
- Tidy and clean your boat unless you pre-book our cleaning service.
- Return your boat by 09:00 on your last cruising day (or by midday if you have booked a Late Check-out).
- A technician will check the boat and calculate your fuel charge by recording the amount of engine hours you have used.
- Don’t forget to book with us again and join our Captains Club.
