About Kingfisher WHS

The Kingfisher is a very versatile small cruiser - great for a small family of 4.

Please note: Boats in our Scottish fleet ending with ‘WHS’ were previously operated by West Highland Sailing, and are older than boats from our regular budget fleet. This is reflected in the price.

We had a great holiday on the Caledonian Canal in early October.2020. Apart from a few sharp showers, the weather was good and the colours in the trees and hills was magnificent. The support from the Laggan Base was first rate. The boat was ready for us and all that we needed to know was explained. We were given a 'test drive' and some useful advice as well as help through our first lock - ideal for novices - and we were all set to go. The lock keepers and swingbridge operators were also very friendly and supportive. A good time was had by all! Thank you. The boat (Kingfisher 3) was a little 'snug' for us three 'oldies' - but it provided all that we needed!

Amazing staff, really made our honeymoon special, with a great warm welcome and surprise! Even though our boat was quite retro (kingfisher), it was clean and worked out great for us as a couple. But I would say it is in need of a refurbishment or replacement soon.

Our boat was not of the standard or condition we had hoped for, very old boat and not able to provide a good example of this companies fleet. Dampness, leaks and a cooker that wasn't properly usable made it a less than enjoyable experience. Met lots of other LeBoat customers on our weeks cruise and most of them agreed staring the problems they had also incurred. Will use a different company next time. We have been on narrow boats, campervans and caravan holidays and this came a very bad last on our list.
